Remarks

Sets the actual speakers configuration for the given output device.

The actual speakers configuration can be retrieved through the GetOutputSpeakersConfig method.

This method doesn't work in Windows Vista and Windows 7 where speakers configuration can be only set through the Windows Control Panel.

Parameter

Description

nOutputIndex

Number representing the zero-based index of the involved output device

nNewConfig

The new speakers configuration.

Supported values are the following:

SPEAKERS_STEREO	0	2 stereo speakers (Stereo)
SPEAKERS_QUADRAPHONIC	1	4 stereo speakers (Quadraphonic)
SPEAKERS_5_1	2	6 stereo speakers (5.1)
SPEAKERS_7_1	3	8 stereo speakers (7.1)

Return value

Value	Meaning

Negative value	An error occurred (see the LastError property for further error details)
enumErrorCodes.NOERROR (0)	The method call was successful.
